The Lorraine Motel and National Civil Rights Museum

The museum has preserved the entire façade and parking lot of the Lorraine, at 450 Mulberry Street. But they extended the building further back to house the museum, which is filled with rich multimedia displays, like an actual bus you can get into and hear the driver tell Rosa Parks to give up her seat, and a lunch counter where you can watch old black-and-white videotapes of people at sit-ins in diners in the '50s and '60s--white people giving their perspective, rights activists receiving training in nonviolent protest methods, and vicious physical attacks on people trying to get a little service.
