William Hammond was born at Bermuda Islands. He married Mary Walgraff, daughter of George Walgrave and Magdalena Rutgers Van Langendyck, before 1708 at Tarrytown, NY. William Hammond married Esther Storm, daughter of David Storm and Esther Sie, on 4 November 1714 at Tarrytown, NY. William Hammond died in 1762 at Tarrytown, NY.

He lived at just outside, Tarrytown, NY. He was an elder at Dutch Reformed Church, Tarrytown, NY. William Hammond was also known as Capt. William Hammond was also known as William Hammon. William Hammond was also known as William Hemmen. He immigrated circa 1700 to NY.
